RUN_RECAP_RUNGS

const RUN_RECAP_RUNGS: readonly ["off", "outstanding", "always"]

Defined in: packages/core/src/config/schema.ts:340

[[EXT-178]] — the rungs of the end-of-run recap, the short paragraph a run prints when it ends without an error.

Three rungs rather than a boolean, and that is the node’s own “banner nobody reads” constraint answered in the schema rather than left to the user:

  • off — never. The default; see DEFAULT_RUN_RECAP_RUNG for why an unconfigured install does not spend a model call per turn.
  • outstanding — only where the run’s own checklist says work is left. The recap then fires exactly where the silence was costing something, and a clean run stays clean.
  • always — every clean stop. The full feature: a recap is worth reading when nothing is wrong too, which is what separates it from a diagnostic.

A boolean is a config error naming the rungs, exactly as output.header is: the middle rung is the one most users want and a boolean cannot express it, so quietly accepting true would hand them the most expensive answer without telling them the cheaper one exists.
